5th Avenue Products Trading

Corporate website relaunch

Relaunch 2014, Drupal upgrade and content migration 2020

5th Avenue Products Trading-GmbH is the official sole importer of Habanos cigars for Germany, Austria and Poland. The company is a joint venture specifically for the exclusive import and distribution of these legally protected cigars from Cuba. 5th Avenue distributes more than 27 Habanos brands in around 200 different formats, which are mainly sold in upmarket tobacco retailers.

Strong brands with history: Cohiba, Montecristo, Romeo y Julieta, ...

The 5th Avenue brand portfolio comprises a total of 27 Habanos brands, including well-known brands such as Cohiba, Montecristo, Romeo y Julieta, Partagás, H.Upmann or Hoyo de Monterrey.

Churchill's visit to Havana one year after the end of the war had a lasting impact on the brand's history. On the one hand, his name was henceforth used on the cigar ring, and on the other, the brand's best-known format was named after him: Romeo y Julieta Churchill.

Responsive Drupal website with lots of interesting content

The new 5th Avenue website not only offers the usual company information in an appealing web design. In addition to the content on the Habanos brands and the respective products, visitors are also regularly provided with the latest news in the news section. Furthermore, the section "The world of Habanos" offers a wealth of content: the history and everything worth knowing about Cuban tobacco and the Habanos cigar.

The cigar finder

The Cigar Finder offers a way to get to know the brands and products using filters. Connoisseurs of Habanos can confirm their knowledge here, but everyone else has the option of searching the product range according to specific criteria such as "strength" or "ring gauge".

Visual world: Product Hero, Havana and Cuban flair

The visitor is stimulated by a diverse world of images. Some of the photos come from the archive or are by Michael Hauser, a well-known travel photographer. The product hero on the homepage was shot especially for the website by Alexander Stertzik on behalf of Tojio GmbH.

Technical: Facts vs. stories

The content components of the website span a very wide range from a technical point of view: from clearly structured product and retailer data to completely freely creatable editorial content. The facts (product and retailer data) are realized as Drupal Commerce entities and are simply imported from external tables via feeds. The stories (especially the rich section "The World of Habanos") can be created by editors with the greatest possible freedom in layout sequences. This freedom is made possible by the Paragraphs module, the use of which creates enormous flexibility compared to the normal content types defined at field level.
