Drupal 8 Accelerate
Drupal is an open source project that is supported by the voluntary community. Now the completion of the first stable version of Drupal 8 is to be accelerated by giving the otherwise volunteer developers something to earn for the final spurt. Specifically, the last remaining release-blocking issues are to be addressed and Drupal 8 will finally be brought from the beta version to the release version.

In order to be able to manage this remaining effort, a call for donations is currently running on Crowdrise: Drupal 8 Accelerate. Donations are made by members of the Drupal community as well as companies that rely on Drupal and want to continue to do so in the future! However, it is not only a technological investment in the future, but also a kind of public relations ... as the donors are also listed and recognized. Freelancers or small companies donate small amounts and larger companies donate correspondingly more ... for example, Swisscom Schweiz AG donated $1,000 and Time Inc. donated $25,000.
Donate 50$ and win "one annual Drupalize.Me membership"
Drupalize.Me, a Drupal eLearning website, has now created an interesting incentive for donations: Anyone who donates $50 will be entered into a drawing for a "Free Annual Membership" otherwise worth $450. Since the chances of winning are probably not bad, we have also decided to use Drupalize.Me as a fundraiser.
