German internet industry grows by approx. 12% per year until 2019
The dynamic development and the resulting appreciation of the internet economy in Germany continues: according to the results of the study "The German Internet Economy 2015 - 2019" (eco e.V. / Arthur D. Little), there will be annual growth of around 12% until 2019. By comparison, the German economy is expected to grow by 1.7% in 2016.

This means that the internet industry remains one of the fastest growing economic sectors in Germany. Having grown by more than 10% annually in recent years, it is now poised to overtake traditional German industries: if the forecast is correct, it will overtake the mechanical engineering and chemical/pharmaceutical industries in five years' time. In 12 years, it would then be the turn of the German automotive industry!
