In six years of professional experience, I have tried out different working environments: From freelancing, to being employed by a company, to being employed by a digital agency. But what is the best environment for an aspiring digital designer? That depends entirely on your personal goal, of course.

What makes working in an agency environment special? When I ask other designers in agencies this question, I hear a lot about a feel-good environment, a stylish loft office, table football, free beer and a games paradise, barbecues on the agency's own roof terrace, an office dog and a relaxed boss at eye level. There is a lot of it, some of it is perhaps just internal marketing and some is just icing on dry bread. But: The most important argument for working on the agency side for me is:

What is often forgotten between the amenities, dream salaries and independence: Working also means learning - training never ends and our working environment is developing rapidly. So where could we learn more in our own field than by working directly with our peers? Hardly any other working environment is as rich in experts in your field as an agency. Here, your peers and closely related professions come together in a creative, sometimes colorful, sometimes minimalist but always mutually stimulating pool. - In the shared offices, there is always a problem that someone is trying to solve and almost always someone who provides the answer. And when conventional thinking gets stuck, creative ideas hop across the table between table tennis sessions. In short, a creative agency is a fertile and productive breeding ground in which you can develop yourself and from which you can learn in a wide variety of ways.

When we leave the office in the evening and enter it again in the morning, not only has the earth moved on considerably, but numerous technical innovations, updates, trends and new demands have also emerged.
