Tojio becomes Drupal Association Member
We have been using Drupal since summer 2009. Now we have finally become an official member of the Drupal community. Why did it take so long? We had actually linked this step to the relaunch of our new website, which had simply been significantly delayed due to a high project workload.
So now it's long overdue. Tojio is Drupal Association Organization Member and will probably soon also be a contributor:
SPCTRM - The Drupal Color Module
We are planning to release a Drupal module, which was created here at Tojio. When it will be ready depends on how many bugs we find ;) . The module is currently in the closed beta phase ... more about it soon here in the blog ...
Drupal in the fast lane
A few years have passed since we decided on Drupal. We now feel that our choice has been confirmed. Drupal is enjoying great popularity - especially in the professional (open source) sector.
After initial doubts (after all, Wordpress is incredibly successful due to its "everyman distribution" and in German-speaking countries Typo3), we now believe that Drupal has very good prospects for the future - not only in terms of its technical merits, but also in terms of project volume and demand.
At least there is a lot to be said for this, here are just four of many arguments:
- The use of Drupal is increasing worldwide (CMS Market Share) - for small and large, relevant websites. (e.g. www.whitehouse.gov)
- For professional, large websites (measured by traffic and size), Drupal has a strongly increasing distribution.
- Web developers love Drupal. Drupal therefore has a particularly large, capable community. (drupal.org/community)
- After the programmers, the web designers have now also jumped on Drupal. There are now many sites and Drupal agencies that produce state-of-the-art web design. (e.g.: Amazee Labs, Switzerland or Lullabot, USA)
Drupal for web stores, CRMs, intranets, ...
We are also looking forward to Drupal development for special application areas such as eCommerce (e.g. Drupal Commerce), project management (e.g. Erpal), intranet (e.g. Atrium). Drupal has strengths in the collaborative area, e.g. communities that work together on topics, exchange ideas and provide information (keyword: social software). Drupal-based solutions that rely on these strengths could therefore prevail against some established (web) software in the future.
Web store with Drupal Commerce
We are currently working on an eCommerce project for Vereon AG - with Drupal Commerce. This is certainly a good choice for this project, not only because a total of seven Vereon AG websites are already running on Drupal, but also because the requirements for the web store are rather individual and therefore store systems such as Magento or xtCommerce are less suitable.
